Here are the 12 foundational concepts that you must understand in order to reach your full financial potential in God’s Economy.
- Purpose and Destiny – You were created for a purpose. You have a destiny to fulfill while here on earth. You were born for more than just to live, get a job, pay bills and go to heaven. God created you to make a difference in the lives of others, not to consume everything God has blessed you with on yourself. Every individual has been given unique gifts, talents and abilities needed to fulfill the vision God has put in their heart. You have also been given unique life experiences that He wants you to share. You are the solution to someone’s problem. Your gifs and experiences are the answer to someone’s prayer.
- Positive expectations: God wants you to succeed in every area of your life. Your attitude determines the outcomes you receive in life… We have been programmed to think a certain way regarding money and success. Your existing circumstances in life are the result of what you have been thinking in the past – based on what you have been conditioned to believe on the inside – your attitude, your philosophy, your world view. your success in life is determined by what you believe. You can never go beyond the limits of what you think, what you believe is possible. Proverbs 23:7 states, “As a man thinks in his heart so is he.”… A Prison without walls
- Potential. God has already provided everything you need to live a successful and productive life. You have the power and capacity to dominate your circumstances. On the inside of every individual there is the power to overcome insurmountable odds, and excel far beyond the limits of their current circumstances. Deep down on the inside of every individual there is a switch that can be turned on to release the potential to achieve. Example: My daddy told me that you can do anything you believe you can do in life …he told me to get a good education, work hard and make something out of your life.
- Vision – In order to reach your destination, you must have a vision for your life – a clear goal – a definite destination with measurable outcomes. Your destiny depends on what you can see (your imagination). – Every individual should have clear goals for their lives. This course will teach you how to focus on your final destination. Your life will always follow your most dominant thoughts. Your life is like a magnet that attracts what you think about the most. If you are constantly thinking about your negative circumstances and situations – how bad they are rather than the outcomes you desire, you will attract more of the negative circumstances.” This is called the “Law of Attraction’. If you want to change your financial condition you must focus on where you want to go instead of where you are at the present.
- Financial Stewardship (Personal Entrepenurship): Every person is a businessperson—Whether the head of a household or the head of a major corporation, you have resources coming in and expenses going out. Your success will be determined by the goals you set, by the choices you make and how well you manage the resources God has entrusted to your care. In order to fulfill Gods purpose and destiny for your life, you must learn how to be a good steward and properly manage what you already have. There are Spiritual laws and natural principles that govern financial prosperity and economic success. In my book, “God’s Plans For Your Finances, ” I outline 12 Biblical laws that governs money and financial success in God’s economic system.
- Personal Responsibility – You are 100% responsible for the outcomes in your life. You cannot blame anyone else for your success or failure. The choices you make, the priorities you set and the actions you take will determine your final outcome. (See the 10 blessings God has promised to those who are obedient and follow His principle and rules)
- Organized knowledge: One of the primary reasons people fail financially is because of a lack of knowledge of the spiritual principles that govern financial success. The prophet Hosea 4:6 states, “My people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. Organized knowledge gives you power to dominate your circumstances. There are two ways we learn and process knowledge: a) By our own personal experiences and b) Learning from the experiences and mistakes of others. In this course you will learn how to separate fact from fiction, how to distinguish usable knowledge from basic information.
- Your mission and your finances: Your finance to your vision is like oxygen to your body. If your body does not have the oxygen it needs it will die. If your vision does not have the resources/finances it needs it will die. Money is not the most important thing. However, it has a prominent position and is a key ingredient in the successful completion of your vision. You must educate yourself on how money works to be successful regardless of your chosen profession. Remember, God wants you blessed financially so that you can be a blessings to those in need.
- You may have to change some priorities in your life. If you are currently in a financial crisis, bankruptcy, foreclosure or financial pressure, etc. do not allow the circumstances to set your priorities. Your first priority is your family’s wellbeing – the basics: food, clothing, shelter and transportation – everything else is secondary. Your number # 1 objective to break the poverty cycle and change your financial circumstances is to start making systematic contributions to your financial freedom account … your surplus (see the Destiny Institute cash flow icon). You may have to put some other bills/expenses on the back burner until you establish and fund your surplus account.
- There is power in agreement (harmony/peace) – It is imperative that you and your spouse be in agreement as it relates to making money decisions. Couples must be in agreement on spending, savings, debt reduction and long term financial goals for your financial plan to be successful. Financial problems/ financial stresses are the leading cause of marital problems. (To be successful, both husband and wife should enroll in the Destiny Institute Basic Money Management Course together). Team work and cooperation – The golden rule. Your actions, beliefs, your words and your prayers must all line up with each other.
- A Personal Accountability partner and Financial Success – According to Webster’s dictionary success is a favorable or satisfactory outcome or result. You should be able to see and measure your progress on an annual basis. It is important to have someone to hold you accountable with honest feedback to keep you on track, moving towards the financial goals that you have set for your life.
